In 2004, FIA undertook research on key issues impacting on the legislation and regulation of fundraising. The principal research findings focus on five main areas as follows:

  1. Defining fundraising
  2. Community confidence in fundraising
  3. Model for fundraising regulation
  4. Cost of fundraising
  5. Mutual recognition and national harmonisation

FIA’s research demonstrates the changing environment in which fundraising occurs in contemporary society. Conclusions drawn from this research are summarised in FIA’s responses to each of the issues. Click here to access this document.

Australian Council for International Development (ACFID) and the Development Practice Advisory Committee (DPAC) commenced a process, in conjunction with ACFID member NGOs, to identify, assess, and improve organisational performance and development. Click here to view the ACFID Self Assessment Tool.
