Celebrating our volunteers

December 5 is International Volunteer Day and the FIA joins with its members in celebrating and thanking the thousands of selfless volunteers supporting the charity sector.International Volunteer Day (IVD) was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1985, and is now celebrated worldwide.
According to Volunteering Australia, there are our 6.4 million volunteers in Australia, and 38 per cent of Australian adults volunteer. The number of volunteers has doubled over the last 15 years.
