I am an experienced fundraiser and have been assisting schools, religious, health, sporting and all types of not-for-profit organisations for more than 25 years. 

I can help you with:

• Management of major gift and capital appeals, including:
  • feasibility studies before you get started;
  • major gift research, preparations and solicitations; and
  • planning and implementation of all other aspects of your capital appeal.
• Trust applications;
• Development staff and institutional leadership:
  1. assisting with position descriptions, interviews, reference checks;
  2. fundraising advice;
  3. assisting Boards, Councils, development offices; and
  4. confidence building.
• Advice on:
  1. annual giving appeals;
  2. bequest programs; and
  3. any other type of fundraising.

My strengths include offering a totally “hands on” approach if required.  I am prepared and able to assist you with all appeal preparations, preliminaries and major donor research. I will assist you in the major donor asking process. I will help you through all the more public stages of your appeal until it has been completed.

I am a chartered accountant who has worked in senior management positions in Canada and Australia prior to starting my fundraising consultancy in Melbourne more than 25 years ago. I am also a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) – the internationally recognised peak fundraising designation – a Fellow of the Association of Development and Alumni Professionals in Education (ADAPE) and a member of the Fundraising Institute Australia (FIA).

I am a past member of the CFRE Advisory Council.  For several years I have been a member of the Victoria/Tasmania Committee and Vice President of ADAPE.  I am a participant of the FIA Mentoring and advanced Skills 3 Professional Development Programs. I have also spoken at conferences including FIA, ADAPE and CASE Europe. I am a Rotarian.

I was Foundation Director at Xavier College, Melbourne where, over 16 years, I raised more than $30 million.  In this role I was responsible for all aspects of development including:

• major building campaigns;
• bequest program;
• annual appeals; and
• major fundraising events.

During that time and subsequently, I have run more than 40 capital campaigns in boys, girls and co-educational schools around Australia, raising more than $60 million.

I have also worked with cathedrals, hospitals, research institutes and other not-for-profits.
