Australian Communications and Media Authority
The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) is a government agency responsible for the regulation of broadcasting, the internet, radio communications and telecommunications.
ACMA's responsibilities include:
- promoting self-regulation and competition in the communications industry, while protecting consumers and other users
- fostering an environment in which electronic media respect community standards and respond to audience and user needs
- managing access to the radiofrequency spectrum
- representing Australia 's communications interests internationally

Australian Competition & Consumer Commission
An independent statutory authority, the Commission administers the Trade Practices Act 1974 and the Prices Surveillance Act 1983 and has additional responsibilities under other legislation. Under the national competition policy reform program the Trade Practices Act has been amended so that, with State/Territory application legislation, its prohibitions of anti-competitive conduct apply to virtually all businesses in Australia.
The Australian Privacy Commissioner’s Website
The Office of the Federal Privacy Commissioner is an independent Office which has responsibilities under the federal Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). The Act provides protection for: Personal information about you that is handled by federal and ACT government agencies; Personal information about you held by all large private sector organisations, all private sector health service providers and some small businesses; Credit worthiness information held by credit reporting agencies and credit providers; and personal tax file numbers used by individuals and organisations.

The Independent Competition and Regulatory Commission is a statutory body set up to regulate prices, access and other matters in relation to regulated industries and to investigate competitive neutrality complaints and government-regulated activities.
