Donor Bonding Special Interest Group

Congratulations, you’ve got new donors! Now what do you do?
It’s tough finding new donors! That moment when you open the mail and find their donation gives every fundraiser a warm glow. Once the honeymoon is over though, how do you keep donors engaged for life?

Don’t get caught up in the excitement of the win and neglect to put a plan in place for getting the 2nd gift and keeping the donor for life. How do you thank them? How are you going to communicate with them? Should you treat them differently to your other donors?

Date: Wednesday 17 June
Time: 12.00 - 2.00pm
Venue: Uniting Church, Ground Floor, 130 Little Collins Street, Melbourne

Management & Leadership all day workshop

Are you being heard, do you deserve to be heard?
Developing strategic fundraising planning and leadership skills.

As professional fundraisers, a primary objective is to cost-effectively increase fundraising income progressively. We call this ‘fundraising development’ and some of us even carry that very objective in our job title - Development Manager.

Peter Dalton FFIA CFRE, shares that: "A cursive assumption many boards and CEOs have of us is that we will affect fundraising programs and systems to change the charity’s very fundraising dynamic, and be able to do so with minimal additional investment in the ‘development function’ or even in us! That’s why we need to be heard, to enable us to articulate the need for fundraising investment long term. But how do you articulate that in language that will be heard by your line manager, CEO and board? What is your strategic fundraising plan, how do you develop it, how do you present it with impact, and be listened to? That requires leadership skills, not just fundraising or fundraising management skills."

This special, first time workshop on developing strategic fundraising planning and leadership skills is co-facilitated by Peter Dalton FFIA CFRE, Director fundraisingfutures and Sharon Hillman FFIA, Director of Fundraising Austin Health / Olivia Newton-John Cancer & Wellness Centre Appeal.

Date: mid-July 2015,
Time: 8.30am - 5.00pm
Venue: Inner Melbourne - venue to be confirmed
