As you get back into the routine of work in our sector that does so much to support services to our community, please remember that FIA staff, tutors and volunteers are ready to assist you every day of the working week with professional development, learning and networking.
CEO Update: A year in review
Well, what another busy year at FIA. One minute we are planning the year’s programs and the next thing we know the festive season is upon us. Most of us will be looking forward to a rest over the summer, enjoying time with loved ones and wondering what 2017 will bring.
CEO Update: FIA moves to ensure no surprises to consumer law
After a challenging few weeks, I am pleased to report two positive developments on the red tape reduction front. First, the Australian Tax Office has agreed to provide specifically for our members non-binding guidance on the Commissioner’s attitude about the tax deductibility of a gift under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). Second, red tape reduction measures will actually come into effect in South Australia from 1 December this year.
