A Commitment to Fundraising Excellence

Fundraising Institute Australia (FIA) membership shows a commitment to best-practice fundraising. Our goal is to equip Australia’s fundraisers with best-practice fundraising knowledge so they can fulfill their organisation’s mission and enable greater impact overall.

Working for you and the sector

As a peak body and we are a not-for-profit organisation that exists solely for the benefit of our Members. Revenue from membership fees is invested to protect and grow the fundraising sector, develop a strong professional identity for the fundraising workforce, and advance best-practice fundraising both now and in the future.

Organisational members are invited to register their entire fundraising teams, leaders, board members and volunteers under their membership. Each registered contact will be given direct access to Member benefits. FIA represents over 600 charitable organisations, 130 supplier organisations and 600 individual professional members and we provide regular communications around sector news, research and resources, event information and other member activities.  We support our members in these key ways:

Protection

  • The latest information on regulatory issues and an opportunity to influence and work with the peak body on issues that impact our sector
  • The FIA Code – a set of ethical best-practice guidelines to ensure transparency and accountability for professional fundraising

Promotion

  • Ability to use the FIA Organisational Member logo as a mark of credibility
  • Entry to the FIA Awards for Excellence in Fundraising
  • Proactive public relations and advocacy taking place on your behalf that supports and promotes ethics and best practice in fundraising
